Our desire is to worship and serve our God through Christ our Savior as He continually conforms us into His image. We also desire to share the Gospel of Christ with the world as the Spirit of God enables us.

Fall Creek Baptist Church History Fall Creek Baptist Church was organized in 1853. The oldest church in Sullivan County, the 158 year old Fall Creek was originally called Rocky Point Baptist. The first site of the church is off what is now Stoney Point Road in the vicinity of Warrior's Path State Park. The land was given for the church in 1853 by Washington Galloway. The deed for the church was recorded in Blountville on October 11, 1855 and the church lettered into the Holston Association of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1857. The first pastor of the church was Peter Kuhn, a Pennsylvania native who came with his family in the late 1790's. In 1953, the church moved approximately a quarter of a mile to it's present location on Fall Creek Road and was then renamed Fall Creek Baptist Church. The new building was constructed on land donated by Grover Strickler. The only items remaining from the old building is a pulpit and some pews, which are still used today. The first service at the new church was conducted on April 19, 1953 in the basement. The first service in the new auditorium was held on May 20, 1956. The church is still servicing the community today, spreading God's word with Dr. Tommy Haynes as the pastor.
Worship Worship is an attitude of the human heart expressing the worthiness of God in praise, honor, reverence, adoration, and faithful service. The worship of God is the genuine, sincere desire of the true believer. As the believer worships, a true expression of the worthiness of God in His character and nature as God is offered in humility. In authentic worship, the worshiper heeds God’s instruction and teaching about Himself. If the worship of God does not agree with His word and nature, He is not worshiped at all. We must remember the objective in worship is not that the believer may be blessed, but that God may be glorified and pleased. Think of the words of Job when he said, “though he slay me, yet will I trust him”(Job 13:15). Job’s desire expressed the worthiness of God as he faithfully trusted in Him regardless of the circumstances and situations our Sovereign Father ordained for his life. Although the biblical objective of the worship of God is not focused upon the worshiper, it is true that the blessing of God does rest upon the believer as a consequence of true worship. The blessing of worship is experienced in the reality of the peace of God in the heart of the believer, as well as experiencing peace with God in Christ our Lord. When we worship God in spirit and truth we are coming into agreement with the truth about God declared in His word. We delight in His truth and glorify Him in giving worship pleasing to Him. He will accept nothing less than the revealed truth in His word as He is worshiped. Come worship God with us each Sunday. Pastor Tommy Haynes
Christ and His Church In Matthew 16: 15-18, we find these words from Christ concerning building His church, “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said; Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” How is Christ building His church in the world today? He is building it just as He said He would in the passages above. The increase of the church is by the divine intervention and revelation of God working in human hearts. Only God can open spiritually blinded eyes. God alone has the power to cause spiritually deaf ears to hear. The sovereign God of creation alone has the ability to resurrect spiritually dead sinners to life in Christ. This is what Christ teaches us here. When Peter makes his confession and states, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”, Jesus clearly teaches that this truth about Christ is not known by mere human intellect or ability, but by the divine intervention of God. Jesus teaches that upon this truth revealed will our Father in heaven build His church. The church consists of all those whom God has called, and is calling out of the world for Himself, as they express genuine saving faith in Christ, the Son of the living God. We praise God that the true church is built by Christ alone. He will not fail in His task of saving and giving eternal security to all of His people who will trust in Him as the Christ, the Son of the living God. Pastor Tommy Haynes
The Duty of Believing In Christ
Closely connected to repentance for sin is the duty to genuinely believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The scripture states in Mark 1:15,”repent ye, and believe the gospel”. Both repentance and faith in Christ relate to men as sinners, and without the willing obedience to perform these duties, escape from the penalty of sin is impossible. The requirement of faith, in addition to repentance, proves that mere sorrow for sin is not sufficient for becoming a child of God. The passages of scripture are numerous in which faith is expressly declared necessary to salvation. Consider John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” Also John 3:18 states that, “He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” These passages give proof that true faith is necessary to salvation. We also learn that faith in anything or anybody is not sufficient. Christ Jesus must be the object of our faith. We may believe many things that God has said in His holy word without believing in Christ. We may believe many truths concerning Christ without possessing that faith in Him which has the promise of eternal life. True faith receives Christ entirely as He is presented in the Gospels. If any part of His character, His offices or His doctrine, is not welcomed in the heart, true faith does not dwell there. Salvation is God’s gift, which is received by genuine faith alone in Christ alone by His grace alone.
